Etyeki Kúria Kékfrankos, 2017

Kékfrankos, a.k.a. Blaufränkisch is one of the essential Hungarian red grapes. The limestone-based vineyards are located near Sopron, dubbed the „Capital of Kékfrankos”. Patient ageing in barrel and bottle results in a cool character on the nose with blackberry, kirsch, plum, and plenty of spices. The palate is founded on the trio of blackberry, blackcurrant and fresh plum, with baking spices, some smokiness and a subtle medicinal liqueur character.
